Dear YIS Families,
In our last week of school, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for your engagement, partnership and support over the year. From volunteering at swim meets to participating in our Community Event to attending performances, your presence on campus has been pivotal to the success of our students and sense of community we all experienced. In my first year as Head of School, I would particularly like to communicate my gratitude for the personal connections we’ve had and the opportunity to get to know you and your child/ren better. The community’s warmth and sense of care is palpable, and it is an honor to serve it as Head of School.
As shared last week, next year we launch our updated Impact Strategy. The culmination of six months of community engagement, this strategy represents our collective vision of our highest future. The Impact Strategy takes into consideration the complex, dynamic world our children live in and our responsibility as a school to provide the learning necessary to navigate this. As we move into next school year, there will be many opportunities for you to be part of this process and to learn more about our planned actions. We welcome you to join us.
In the meantime, I want to wish you all a relaxing and rejuvenating summer break with family and friends. For those of you who will be here for Summer School, we will see you around next week. Otherwise, we will see you all back on campus for our first day of school, August 17th. We look forward to hearing your child/ren’s stories from their holidays, and expect it will only further support their growth and development.
Best wishes,
Carla Marschall
Head of School
